Mogo
Zoo
9th May 2004 Combined With Sydney Torana Club – Southern Branch The Mogo Zoo trip was organised between CTC and STC-SB during the Shannon’s Wheels earlier in the year. The meeting point was at Queanbeyan Supercheap for an 8:30am depart. Gary and Bruce from the Southern Branch were first at the meet-up point, followed by Rod and his family from Canberra Torana Club. Others from both clubs arrived shortly after. Shortly before 9:00am, the group departed minus Bruce, Pat and Tanya, and hurdled towards the coast at a rapid pace without any scheduled stops at food joints. The CTC contingent broke away from the group, as a few of the kids needed an unscheduled chuck. The clubs regrouped just outside of Bateman’s Bay, and quickly decided a McDonald’s stop was in order. After a quick Macca’s scoff, it was onto Mogo Zoo. The morning pasted quickly and the Southern Branch decided to head off back to Bateman’s Bay for a feed, whilst the Canberra Torana Club members unanimously decided to hang around and watch the animals be fed. The big cats were a favourite with the kids. Being fairly late in the arvo, we all decided to stop in at the lolly shop in Mogo for a feed of exploding candy, and mega warheads. We had a quick look at the boats in Bateman’s Bay before we embarked on an uneventful and safe journey home, stopping at Lawrie’s chip bucket in Bungendore before going our separate ways. All in all, a great day was had … Thanks to Gary and the Southern Branch for a top day down the coast. Sydney Torana Club Southern Branch Canberra Torana Club |
