John Grannall Memorial Car Show

30th July 2006

We met at the car park between the Hellenic Club and Woden Bus Interchange and moved off to the Car Show at 8.30am.

We arrived at the display about ten minutes later and it seemed we were amongst the first cars to arrive.
By 10am however there were 97 cars on display. The organisers informed us that this was a record amount for the event and the number is growing each year.

The weather was rather chilly, windy and a little overcast with momentary bursts of sunshine that were well enjoyed by all.

There was a vast of array of vehicles on display including Chevy’s, Fords, Chryslers, BMWs Morries and of course, those mighty Torries from our club. It was also good to see members wearing club merchandise and the club banner on display.

Prizes were won by the ACT Street Machine for best represented club, ACT restorers club for best club presentation, with a HK Monaro taking out best car followed closely by a superb green 55 Chevy.

Following the display at approximately 21.30 pm, we decided to go for a small cruise taking in Garran, Deakin and ending at the Red Hill lookout where a photo shoot of Craig’s LH SLR 5000 was undertaken by our enthusiastic photographer Phil.

Thank you to the following members for their attendance and support.
