Ten Pin Bowling
24th April 2005
Queanbeyan Bowling 24/04/2005 The day began at Fyshwick KFC, where we all met up to travel to Trev's for the scheduled photo shoot and BBQ. Notably missing from the photo shoot was no less than the club president aka Lawrie with his LX. After the kids had a short play in the nature strip, we decided it was time to head off to the our BBQ location. We had planned a cherry picker or had someone forgotten to organise it??? No, Marty had organised the cherry picker, but unfortunately it had broken down during the week. Fortunately, there were a set of footy goal posts, on which Gerry decided he'd climb for the aerial view. As the photo session concluded, Jan, Maree and helpers had the BBQ fired up for sausage sandwiches. Roy and Sue arrived in the Corvette to join us for lunch, as did Vish in his Calais shortly after. Again a credit to Jan for her efforts, although a few were a little concerned about the jelly rings she handed around. They did somewhat resemble elastrators. With lunch finished, Trevs mind at ease over the jelly rings, everyone comfortably full, and a bit of a relax and chat, it was time to head off to Queanbeyan Bowling. On arrival, we divided into five bowling teams, and donned the clown boots for two games. Robyn took out top female score at 110, while Phil pulled 211. He was asked by management to play league bowls. While in the kids Emily bowled 133, and Shane 95 respectively. (see below for the days scores). With bowling over and done with, and Glen 20 had been sprayed into the sticky clown boots, some had other commitments, whilst some of us went to Hungry Jacks for a thick shake, only to discover the machine was out again. Deciding that we were already there, we ordered a few chips, burgers and cokes We had the usual chips and gerkin fight (funny that Jan was there again) Following this, we had a few cones Steve had four and had to walk it off. Jan cracked a pops joke about it, but I will not go into detail. John thought the ice-cream cones were value at 30c each, and had another one. Everyone seemed to have a fantastic day, and were all eager to do it again. Thanks to Queanbeyan Bowling for doing us such an excellent deal. There is talk of inviting another club to compete against next time around. In Attendance: Steve & John - Torana LJ Coupe 327 Senior Members Games
