Ten Pin Bowling

Hi all

Today the CTC held its 2 yearly Ten Pin bowling championships. All up there were 25 of us entered into the highly contested competition. The championship was held at the Tuggeranong Bowling Centre.

We sorted ourselves into groups of 6 and began the challenge. I hadn't bowled since the last club outing and it showed. I think others may have said the same thing. As easy as it looks, things just didn't go to plan for most....except for the covert, undercover professional bowler, Mr Mark Bevan! Any his bride wasn't too bad on the bowling side of things too....

Anyway, it was great fun and the rivalry between parties was very evident. And the kids had a ball too and utilised the bumper guards effectively. There were some future champions in amongst them for sure!

The first game was a struggle and we used that as the rust removal game. The second didn't pan out much better, actually worse for some. I actually managed to strain a hamstring, bugger my back (day off from work on the cards) and even hurt both knees in the ordeal. Oh well, trying to be kids in your mid life isn't as easy as one thinks.

Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves immensely. The food was even reasonably well priced, although not the healthiest choice on a menu! But that said it was all about the fun and giggles.

The champion for the day was indeed Mr Bevan. He seemed to have the knack and consistency. Well done Bevo....please don't brag for the next two years until the next round!!!!

Thanks to the members that brought their cars along too. All up there were 5 Torry's out in the car park.

And thanks to the staff at Tuggeranong Bowling Centre.

Anyway, nuff from me...See you all next time.

Cheers, Gerry
CTC Run Co-ordinator...
