Power Karts
Sunday 12th April 2015
CTC Social Run - Powerkarts On Sunday a few of us decided to take up the challenge of racing each other at Powerkarts in Fyshwick. Although there was only a small group of attendees, the competition was still fierce. Even the younger generation raced competitively. Two main races were entered into between the main contingent with Mick H taking out the honours in the first race, King Loz in second place followed by CB in third with them all posting respectable times in the 29 second bracket. As Mick H didn't feature in the second race, King Loz took out top spot with CB closely behind him again all in the 29 second bracket. The third race featured a few different racers including one of the workers from the centre. This race was very fast and very competitive with Mick H coming a very close second to the staff member entrant both posting very fast 28 second laps. CB tried his best to keep up but came a respectable third. It was a really good day and if my recollections serve me right, the kids were the best improvers with Aiden (15 years old) getting a very quick 30 second lap, Mel (16 years old) getting a respectable 31 second lap and even the junior two kids doing well and vastly improving from last year. Also a special day for Aiden being his 15 th birthday. Good to see you have racing in the blood like your old man Aiden J . After the racing was finished, the majority of us decided to head down to Kentucky duck to have a lunch time feed. That was the highlight of the day for me as I couldn't race given my back is stuffed and gokarting wouldn't agree with it at present. Anyway, thanks to those that came along and thanks to staff and management at Powerkarts for accommodating us. Cheers, Gerry |
