Marques in the Park
20th November 2005

It was an early start, 8:00 for 8:30 for a leisurely day in the Park with other like-minded car enthusiasts. Pat was a little worse for wear after a school reunion the night before. We cruised up to Rydges Eaglehawk for the start of the cruise to the John Knight Memorial Park at Belconnen.

Our club was chosen to lead off the cruise to the Park, via Horsepark Drive. Along the way, we attracted the attention of a silver VT Commodore which followed us all the way.

Phil went directly to the Park and reserved our usual spot under the trees near the playground. Upon arrival, this was probably a good thing, as heaps of cars were there already. Peter dropped in to say goodaye. We set-up camp for the day, ripped out the BBQ and started with bacon & egg rolls for breakfast, and the odd Vitamin B to repair damage done the night before.

The organisers were expecting over 500 cars. I think they got them.

Thanks to our sponsor/enthusiast Peter, we had heaps of meat, far more than the mass gathered could eat, so we sold off the excess at $2.00 per sausage sandwich.

The gang started packing up the gear at 2:30 for a 3:00pm departure.

A relaxing day.
