Rolling Chrome Crookwell
Saturday 21st February
We started early, meeting at the Eaglehawk Pub for a 7am departure for Rolling Chrome Crookwell. We headed up the highway to link up with more members at the Big Merino in Goulburn. There was even a quick detour to pick up a member’s mum, which made the run feel even more like a family day out.
We rolled in just before 9am and were pleasantly surprised with a gift pack on arrival. Not a bad touch at all. Once parked, we set up the club windscreen banners and spent the morning wandering through the show, checking out the cars and catching up with everyone.
It was definitely on the warm side and there wasn’t much shade around. A few members pulled out their umbrellas which may have caused a little nervousness when they got close to freshly polished paintwork! You can’t blame anyone for being protective after all that detailing effort.
No trophies for the club this time, but the presentation of our cars was something to be proud of. The effort members put into their vehicles really showed.
After the show, some of the crew took the scenic route home via Gunning and Gundaroo and may have stopped in for a quiet drink. Fair enough too, especially when you’re driving classics without the luxury of modern air conditioning.
All up it was a fantastic run. Great cars, great people and best of all an incident free day. Thanks to everyone who came along. Looking forward to the next one 🚗👏
