Tumut Falling Leaf Festival
Sunday 3rd May
What a fantastic weekend away for the Canberra Torana Club at the Tumut Falling Leaf Festival!
We had a great turnout, with 9 Toranas and 18 members making the trip to Tumut. Our presence was certainly noticed, particularly during the festival parade where our cars were a real crowd favourite. The Toranas drew plenty of smiles, waves and admiration from parade-goers, showcasing the pride and passion of our club.
Following the parade, members enjoyed a relaxed afternoon “mooching” through the vibrant market stalls and taking in the live entertainment around town. The atmosphere was lively and welcoming, making it a perfect setting to catch up and enjoy the festival spirit.
A highlight for many was settling in at the Commercial Hotel Tumut to watch the Raiders secure a win—always better when shared with fellow members! The evening continued with a delicious dinner at the Oriental Hotel Tumut, followed by a comedy show that provided plenty of laughs and a great way to round out the night.
Sunday saw us take the scenic route home via the Snowy Mountains Highway, travelling through stunning high country landscapes. We made a well-earned stop in Adaminaby for a classic country bakery pie before continuing on through Cooma and back to Canberra.
All in all, it was another fun-filled and successful weekend away with the Toranas—great cars, great company, and great memories.
